The Kurdistan Development Management System (KDMS) is a comprehensive web-based application that manages the whole cycle of government and donor-funded development projects in Kurdistan, inclusive of social and economic as well environmental projects. The KDMS will also serve as a reliable, credible, and ultimately invaluable source of information on the distribution of development projects according to sectors, provinces and implementing agencies. The KDMS was designed to support and accompany the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2010-2014, which envisages approximately 3000 projects with a total value of US$186 billion to be implemented over the coming five years. This system was designed in collaboration by teams of experts from the Ministry of Planning, USAID/Tatweer, the UNDP, and Synergy International Systems. The KDMS will foster accountability and transparency in managing development resources in Kurdistan.

The KDMS is hosted on a secure server within the Ministry of Planning in Baghdad. However, users are able to access the system online. An offline version is also available for users with slower internet connectivity. Due to the cutting-edge processes and technology used to integrate JavaScript with Oracle 11g, this system is wholly capable of managing the complex portfolio of development projects across all of the 3 provinces of Kurdistan. Users of the system will include MoP staff, line ministries, governors' offices, executive offices of the GOI, and donor organizations.
